Updates about the central/san mateo towers and area

Hey Fair West neighbors,

The neighborhood association recently (9/22/25) received notice from the architecture firm (https://www.equiterra.design/) working the smaller of the 2 towers at 300 San Mateo AKA the towers AKA two park central…

Nick and Barbara,

I’m excited to tell you that our project is finally in for permit. The formal email is below:

I am with Equiterra, an architecture firm, working on the remodel of the 10-story building at 300 San Mateo Blvd NE. As part of our submittal, we are required to notify you of our building permit submittal and anticipated construction. Attached please find documents related to our project. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Delcie Dobrovolny, Principal

Starting last Mon, Sept 22nd and continuing into the week, the city had lots of personnel at the towers with APD, code enforcement, etc represented. Both towers had new fencing installed, the north building had more boards put over windows and door up to the 2nd story, etc.

Weekly cleanup efforts with support from the Fair West Neighborhood Assoc and FairWestWork continue at the corner of Madeira/Domingo. If you’d like to know more, please join the fwna_everyone list serv where cleanup event details are shared.

Come join in person or join the neighborhood email listserv (http://lists.127tech.net/listinfo.cgi/fwna_everyone-127tech.net) if you’d like to help but can’t make that time and we’ll figure something out.
Thanks to neighbors Emily an Sharon for the financial contributions that are helping to fund our recruitment of extra help from people I meet on the streets.

Yesterday, Sun morning, Nikki, Bear, Tehoma, Lewis, Kim and myself kept the momentum going.
Nikki mentioned interest in having access to a flat bed trailer. If anyone has one or knows a neighbor who would be willing to let us use it, then please respond on the listserv. Thanks!

Thurs 10am – TIDD (https://www.fairgroundsdistrict.nm.gov/faqs/) board meeting on the fairgrounds near the African American Performing Arts Center (there will be signs) for the fairground tax district. More formal than Mon meeting. FWNA people will be there taking notes :)

Fri 6pm – Monthly neighborhood assoc meeting at enchantment dancing. Agenda still being developed, but certainly we’ll talk upcoming neighborhood events, fairgrounds development, neighborhood safety efforts and whatever else we can fit into the ~2hrs

Sat 9-11am – Garden produce swap and coffee/tea hangout in Fox park. Sounds fun!

That’s all?!
