Zoning Hearing: Alcohol Sales at 7-11 on Washington and Lomas

The gas station on the corner of Lomas and Washington recently decided that they want to sell alcoholic beverages for off-site consumption. A zoning hearing is being scheduled for Friday, March 17th for the Special Exception/Conditional Use request by the owner of the 7-11  to sell alcohol within 500 feet of a residential area.

Friday March 17th at 9am
600 2nd St NW
Basement of Plaza del Sol Building
Agenda item #4

Please attend and express your opinions or concerns.

Please note the FWNA board hasn’t officially taken a position on this application, but it’s important to bring this matter attention to residents, since it will impact the area around Zia Elementary School Park which serves as part of the Zia campus during school hours and as a public park during non-school hours.

REMEMBER: “It is the burden of the applicant to ensure that there is such evidence in the record. The city can approve a conditional use only if the evidence presented to the record shows that the proposed use meets the following criteria: a) Will not be injurious to the adjacent property, the neighborhood, or the community; b) Will not be significantly damaged by surrounding structures or activities.”
