The gas station on the corner of Lomas and Washington recently decided that they want to sell alcoholic beverages for off-site consumption. A zoning hearing is being scheduled for Friday, March 17th for the Special Exception/Conditional Use request by the owner of the 7-11 to sell alcohol within 500 feet of a residential area.

Please note the FWNA board hasn’t officially taken a position on this application, but it’s important to bring this matter attention to residents, since it will impact the area around Zia Elementary School Park which serves as part of the Zia campus during school hours and as a public park during non-school hours.
